As a writer, I have a bucket list of places I’d like to publish before I croak. Writing isn’t the hard part. Being published is–at least for me.
A lot of what I write is drawn from what I had to live through first. A couple of years ago, I wrote about how I survived the death of my spouse of 56 years. I dutifully tucked it into a file marked “pending” and waited.
Last summer, a call for submission came out from Chicken Soup for the Soul for a collection called, Grieving, Loss and Healing. Although I’d sent submissions to Chicken Soup before, I decided to try again. To my great surprise, they accepted this submission. Hooray! Success at last!
With Chicken Soup, you not only are paid for your article, you also receive ten books. Mine arrived this week. I’m enjoying reading the views of others who have also experienced loss and healing. Available on Amazon
